In an effort to help students connect scientific concepts to real life issues and research, NMSU-HHMI has supported the incorporation of student investigations of case studies into Biology 111 and 211 lectures. NMSU faculty with support from HHMI are now working to bring more authentic research into the Biology 111 and 211 laboratory courses.
- Introductory Laboratory Courses will be enhanced with more authentic research
- Introductory Lecture Case Studies will be tied to Laboratory Course Research
- Biology Success Center will support students with peer instructors and peer advisors
- Five versions of sophomore-level Research Course will be developed and implemented (Biol 309: Bio Research Lab)
